Wow! Toni Morrison’s life force so clearly comes through in this documentary. You get her true essence as a writer and a heroic human being. The interviews from her colleagues are pitch perfect. Her career as an editor along with her writing process are fascinating details that make you want the film to go beyond the two-hour length. And of course hearing the background on her ground breaking novels Sula, Song of Solomon and Beloved are priceless. This 2019 film release is now part of American Masters and should be available on PBS on demand.
