Tom of Finland is the perfect film to watch for Pride Month. This is a bio pic about the about Touko Laaksonen who is better known as Tom of Finland. Touko became an international sensation with his homoerotic drawings. The film covers a lot of ground beginning with his service in WW11, the struggles of coming out as a gay man in post-war Helsinki, the origins of his art, touring America, AIDS, and the love of his life. The film does feel a bit rushed and uneven in the last half hour but otherwise this an entertaining Finnish film that might make you shed a few tears. The appearance of a rabbi towards the end of the film is quite a surprise. You can stream the film for free through Kanopy. Below I have attached more information about Kanopy and instructions.
