This smart and taut thriller from Catherine Steadman is a quick read. The premise of a normal couple getting involved way over their heads in criminal activity is a winner. The dissection of their marriage grounds the novel. The surprise revelations are a bit contrived and threaten believability in the last part of the book. But hey if you want a page turner, you can forgive a few missteps.
