Ipalpiti Orchestra at Disney Hall performed a mesmerizing eclectic set of standards that included Mendelssohn’s String Symphony #13 in C Minor, Beethoven’s String Symphony Kruetzer Sonata in c minor OP 47, and Vivaldi’s Concerto grosso 4 violins in B-minor. But the highlight was the world premiere of Harmony by Franhiz Ali-Zade. French pianist Ian Barber captured every nuance of the piece with a world class flare. Another world premiere commission Fantasia Hungariana brought the evening to a close. All that was missing were Hungarian dancers.
