I agree that Rocketman is superior to Bohemian Rhapsody. This story of Elton John covers his descent into alcohol and drug addiction and his ultimate recovery. Using his songs to tell the story is a mixed bag. Although the songs generate an electrifying heat, you are always aware of the contrivance to move the plot forward.  The dancing is awkward.  Think heavy duty Momma Mia. I found Jamie Bell as Bernie Taupin to be extraordinary. Taron Egerton does a fine job handling Elton John’s music. I wish his performance had more of the subtleties that Jamie Bell was able to bring to his supporting performance. Ultimately to enjoy the breadth of these classic songs is a two hour love fest.
