Falsettos may be my favorite musical based on my sixth viewing currently playing at The Ahmanson Theater in Los Angeles. My love of these flawed characters is rewarded by the rich deeply complex music and lyrics of William Finn. The love story between Marvin and Whizzer is center stage but Marvin’s ex-wife Trina played brilliantly by Eden Espinosa handles the show stopping “I’m Breaking Down.” with stunning finesse. The elegant choreography combined with James Lapine’s revitalized interpretation makes for ridiculously classic entertainment.
