Daniel’s Husband starts out like a throwback to Boys in the Band. Witty gay banter among a couple of seven years Daniel and Mitchell combined with Barry and Trip a new relationship with a thirty-year age difference. At times this “issue” play that deals with same sex marriage and whether it is a requirement of a relationships goes into preachy theater. But just when you think we are falling into predictability; the piece does an about face. We are thrown into stupendous high intensity melodrama. The rafters at the Fountain Theater explode with the gut wrenching acting. Lead actor Tim Cummings bludgeons the stage with his gripping portrayal. Thrilling theater not to be missed.
