I tried reading “My Brilliant Friend” but found it to be of little interest. Maybe knowing that it had been translated from Italian, made me prejudiced. Now that HBO has adapted the book in Italian with sub-titles, I thought I’d give in another chance. Definitely worth a look based on the first hour. Startling imagery that will grab your interest. The organic violence and emotional outbursts are brilliant.
