This bio-pic about writer Colette is fraught with the inherent clichés of portraying the writing process on film. Director Wash Westmoreland tries to wring away the masterpiece theater qualities with a sweet energy. Of course, Kiera Knightley always come through with passion and intelligence. Dominic West is creditable as her husband Willy. The plot is similar to the Glenn Close vehicle “The Wife”. Keira as Colette writes the novels while her husband gets his name on the book. Eye snapping costumes and sets make this an easy on the eye cinematic feast.
