Sicario day of the soldado is violent, shameless and exploitative entertainment. It’s hard to believe Taylor Sheridan who wrote Hell and High Water composed this screenplay. There are unnecessary pregnant pauses that make you think you are seeing a film with character depth. Don’t be fooled. This film has nothing on its mind. The border crossings, trafficking, and drug cartels shown in the film may perk your interest but quickly dissipate as the film burps to a close.
