This was a torturous slog.  I have loved and followed the career Vera Farmiga including her turn as the mother of Norman Bates in the A&E  series “Bates Motel”. This part as a daughter and animal collector out of control is almost impossible to enjoy. The supporting cast that includes Peter Fonda, Bobby Cannavale and Christopher Lloyd are consistent annoyances. Don’t get me started with Christopher Plummer who walks through the part stealing bits from his last 4 roles. For comic relief he plays Vera’s drug mule father. This is one road trip that should be avoided at all costs.
